Imagine a world where every child—no matter their background—has the support, guidance, and resources they need to grow into a confident, capable adult. This vision is what drives Make a Difference (MAD), an award-winning nonprofit in India dedicated to empowering children in need of care and protection (CNCP). Through holistic programs that span a child’s critical developmental stages, MAD ensures that from age 10 all the way to young adulthood, these children receive the academic support, life skills, and one-on-one mentorship they deserve.

Now, MAD is calling on the Indian diaspora in the United States (and beyond) to be part of a life-changing initiative: “Miles of Difference: The Alumni Collective.” This campaign began with a small group of former MAD volunteers in the U.S. who witnessed firsthand the power of personalized attention for children in shelters. But the mission goes far beyond those 50 alumni. We want every Indian living abroad who cares about giving back to connect with the children we serve—because no matter how many miles lie between us, our impact can be felt right where it matters most.
